Broad-Based Leadership of the CNMI— meeting by virtual means and limited on-site venue(s) as COVID-19 requirements for physical distancing may allow.

We will gather our leadership to review and fully understand a timely and comprehensive presentation of the fiscal crisis facing the CNMI. We ask that participants read: “Facing the Challenge: Addressing the CNMI’s Fiscal Challenge” (download the briefing paper below).

Once the size and composition of our fiscal challenge is fully understood we will work together to review any and all potential adjustments to fiscal operations for the remaining six months of FY2020 and all of FY2021-FY2022.

We will work together in a participatory, goal-oriented, “all for one and one for all” approach to solving our current crisis while also putting the Commonwealth in an improved fiscal position going forward.

Our collective leadership will work together to identify and commit to a package of adjustments that is fully responsive to our fiscal crisis. We will be technically supported by the recently created Fiscal Response Task Force including analytical/facilitative support from a Graduate School USA team of experts, sponsored by the Office of Insular Affairs of the US Department of the Interior.

Once you register below, you can expect: (i) an immediate confirmation by e-mail; (ii) periodic updates including a draft agenda in the coming days; and, (iii) an invite and links to the plenary sessions for all participants and the working group to which you will be assigned. All participants will be provided with post-Summit summary reports and the final “proceedings” documentation of the Summit process and consensus outcomes.
